Vivian Figueredo is a writer and professional do-gooder. As a program evaluator for nonprofits, she gets paid for being judgy. In her younger days, she confused her immigrant parents by majoring in Medieval Studies and not becoming a doctor. Now that she’s a woman of a certain age, Vivian finally has time for her twin passions - writing and history. So, she writes historical fiction.

Vivian explores serious themes like family, trauma, and forgiveness, peppered with a bit of sass. Her current work in progress, AKA her first novel, is inspired by her maternal grandmother, who was abandoned at a Havana hospital at the age of two and lived with that trauma until the day she died. When genetic testing revealed the truth about her grandmother’s family, Vivian was inspired to give her some posthumous closure, albeit fictional.

When not wrangling her novel into shape, Vivian can be found listening to audiobooks while puttering around in her garden. She lives in Bala Cynwyd (“KIN-wuhd”), Pennsylvania, with her husband and two kids.
